Nina Ricci was born in Turin in 1883. A highly talented apprentice, she decided to devote herself to design. Forming a partnership with her only son, Robert, they opened an Haute Couture house in Paris, which became an instant success. As a designer, Madame Ricci had a flair for highlighting the personality of her clients. 'Our ambition has always been to bring dream colours to reality.' Robert Ricci 'For me, perfume is an act of love, real or imagined. I'm a romantic, I can't imagine life without dreams.' When he created his first fragrance, Coeur Joie, Robert Ricci dreamed of a precious material that would make a poetic container for the perfume. His friend Marc Lalique made this dream a reality, with a satin-finish crystal heart adorned with flowers to match the sweet floral bouquet of the fragrance itself. Coeur Joie is glorious, light-hearted and designed to celebrate freedom, gaiety and victory following the end of the war. Ever since 1946, the bottles for Nina Ricci's fragrances have been masterpieces in crystal, comprising an exquisite collection. Imbued with the purity, clarity and luminosity that characterize the spirit of Paris; they house the inspiration that embodies the very soul of the brand, the essence of its beauty. Also available is Farouche, an enchanting floral chypre; Capricci, a sumptuous mix of rose and jasmine; Fille d'Eve, the deceptively seductive, intoxicating chypre and L'Air du Temps, which adapts it's scent to the personality and skin of the woman wearing it.
