Why do I need a skin care routine?
by Temple Spa
The Temple Spa regime is easy and uncomplicated. We all live very busy lifestyles and need a quick way to use products at the beginning or end of the day.
Ours is a 4-step programme which is quick and easy whilst being a joy to use daily and weekly:
1) Cleanse 2) Tone 3) Moisturise 4) Treat So why do we need to do all this? In order for us to understand what each of these stages will do, lets just look at the makeup of the skin structure. It has many layers, but there are two distinct ones that we are interested in. |
|
Firstly, if you look at the pores, you will see that these are what need to be kept scrupulously clean and so that's why we need to use a CLEANSER. We need a cleanser that will go down to the bottom of the pore, melt away any makeup and impurities and flush them to the surface.
TONING ESSENCE removes final traces of debris, shaven hair of men and refines the pores. Depending on your skin type or lifestyle, we have masks that further deep cleanse the pores, or exfoliate dead skin cells.
The outer layer of the skin is called the epidermis. This is the layer that we need to MOISTURISE and protect from the elements and environment. As just mentioned, we also need to polish the surface of any dead skin cells to improve the appearance of the skin and if you have normal/dry skin you will be looking for your mask to supply the skin with a deep nourishing drink.
The lowest layer of the skin is the dermis and it is difficult to penetrate this layer with product, one would need to enter this layer surgically or hypodermically. However, the stratum is where cellular renewal takes place and it is here that we TREAT (SPECIAL ATTENTION and MASKS) the new skin cells that are being created every 28 days, so that as they work their way to the surface, they are already moisturised and healthier. |
