Spring Clean Your Life

by Katie Winterbourne

Although we are moving into the cooler Autumn months, there isn’t a better time to embark on a little inner spring-cleaning than now. Spring cleaning brings new beginnings, it lets go of the old and brings in the new. Let this be your time of re-birth, your time to feel fully vibrant and fresh with inspiration, clarity and growth.

Our thoughts shape our environment and further more our reality, so isn’t it time we became more magical with our thought process?

Through indulging in creative thought and letting go of linear thinking you can begin to spring clean your life. Open yourself up to possibilities beyond your logic, let go of the internal doubt that blocks the magic.

  1. Start with the cobwebs and clear out all skeletons in your closet
Take a good look at the way you think.  Are you negative, always thinking the worst, and unable to see the good around you? Do you spend most of your thoughts on worry? 99% of the things we worry about never happen.  Now that’s food for thought!
Take stock, imagine if every thought you had was a stepping stone into your future and every bad or negative thought you have is a bolder or an uneven surface cutting at your feet you might think again.  Now imagine your thoughts as stepping-stones when you are happy and positive, your path is clear, clean and flowing forward.  This is a metaphor for a simple and easy way to get your life back on track.
In order to move forward easily and with joy it is important that we are not burdened by our past (that’s the skeletons).  Take a good look at the things in the past and ask yourself if they serve you anymore, a good example of this is the drama of a life story, everyone has one to lesser or greater degree, if you have survived it, and it no longer serves you, don’t carry it around with you, chose to heal and open yourself up to a better future.
  2. Literally SPRINGCLEAN!
If your home reflects the soul in dream work then from an intuitive level it can also reflect your state of mind.
If you are living in a cluttered space undoubtedly your mind will feel cluttered.  Get rid of anything that doesn’t reflect who you are or who you are becoming, throw out broken or unloved objects and let go of anything you no longer want or need.  Energetically having too much junk in your life can cause you to have less energy and less vibrancy. The more you let go of the more room you are allowing for new things to come in. Hanging on to things from the past which have strong emotional links can keep you energetically in the past and not allow you to move forward.
  3. Everyone is a mirror
If every person in our lives is reflecting something of us good or bad, then make sure your mirror is clean or at least giving you something to look at that you like.  Start to become aware of the people around you, are they affirming your ideas, goals and aspirations or do they put you down and make you feel bad?  Now is the time to be supported even on your biggest imaginings.
  4. Room for the magic…Planting seeds for your future
Now you have cleaned and cleared and are allowing yourself to be supported by only those that are positive, it is time to fill the empty space you have made with the magic of intention. Universal law states “that which we ask for shall be given”. This almost seems too easy, but it really is that easy.  Know what you want, see yourself being, having, doing it, hold the intention with the belief that you can have the things that you most wish for and …hey presto.
If you set clear intention (goals) and focus on the outcome there can be no room for doubt.  Write it down, talk about it, dream and elaborate on your perfect life.  It is as if you were to plant seeds of intention, make sure you nurture those seeds by moving towards your goals little by little.
  5. Enjoying the space you have cleaned and looking forward to the future
Once you have got rid of the cobwebs and skeletons, found great reflections in your life and cleared out the junk, it is now time to enjoy your efforts.  Start to notice all the good things around you, as you do this it will raise your vibration and attract that which you are focused upon.  Gratitude is the key to setting yourself free.
